Say Yes, Melissa
"Say yes and freak out later," my new kindred sister
said to me during our first marathon conversation.
The diamonds decorating the corners of her
eyeglasses sparkled, her smile lit the room.
She swayed with excitement and enthusiasm
while she talked, drawing pictures with her hands.
Faeries danced in her curly hair, which made her
brush a wisp. She was a patchwork quilt,
each square telling a story of who she was and how
she became to be who she is now. We were off the ground,
we were levitating in that café; our voices raised higher
and higher, our auras burned brighter and brighter.
She says yes to love, yes to risks, yes to
opportunity, yes to funky earrings and rings,
yes to clothes that make her happy, yes to meeting
new people, taking a chance on a neophyte like myself
who strives to be more sure, more colorful, more
authentic, stepping in the footprints that call to me,
that glow with knowingness. I say yes to my writing,
yes to my workshops, performing as a reacher-
teacher-guide, I say yes to helping children find
their voice, I say yes to publishing, I say yes
to a man in pain, I say yes from my pain and from
my love, I say yes to learning the way in whatever
fashion the way comes to me, I say yes to choosing
what I want and bringing it to me, I say yes to stepping
into unknown rooms and flipping the light switch
and finding mirrors all around and looking into my
face and asking, "who are you now, really?"

As you can tell, I met a very special person today. Melissa, a life coach but more important than that, a divine soul who I hope will become a dear kindred friend. Visit her life coach website here.

Help

I'm crying. What a gift you have given me. Let me tell you girl, the feeling is mutual–looking forward to levitating in cafes again very soon!
I wandered over here from Melissa's profile. I'd like to say that it's pretty cool that you found that spiritual connection with her. There's a lot of stuff opening up now-a-days between people, and I hope you come to find more of these amazing connections between others as you walk, write, and skip along your path. Take care.
